A post that I am very proud of, and that many of you wonderful readers really seemed to enjoy, was my Which Is Better? On Brand, or Off Brand Beauty Blender Edition. I decided to make it a little series because I realize that I love a good dupe, and I want you to join in my journey to great dupes! So welcome to another On-Brand or Off-Brand post!
I think every person can agree that moisturizer is something that is a necessity in a skincare routine, especially in this upcoming winter season! I know in the winter I get very dry skin, and I know that moisturizer can get quite expensive, so I thought I would try out a store brand moisturizer, and compare it to a Clean and Clear moisturizer that I already knew I loved.

These are the two moisturizers that I will be comparing in this post! The clean and clear advantage dual action moisturizer (I know this one is slightly different but I have used both!), and the Walmart brand dual power moisturizer. The prices are very different! The clean and clear moisturizer retails for about $6.37 and the Walmart brand is only about $3.47! Therefore, you are definitely paying a lot more for the clean and clear version!
After looking at the ingredients on both, they are both pretty much the same. They both use 0.5% salicylic (definitely spelled that wrong) acid since they are supposed to moisturize and prevent acne! That is one of my favorite parts about these moisturizers because you can use it to get rid of dry skin, while fighting breakouts!
So as for the differences between the two, I found a few. First of all, the scent was different between the two. The Walmart brand moisturizer smelled really odd, and not too good. It didn't smell disgusting, but just not too good. The scent on the clean and clear one wasn't amazing, but it didn't smell weird either. Also the Walmart brand felt a little more watery when you put it on your skin, however the Clean and Clear moisturizer wasn't thick at all either, just a little bit thicker than the Walmart version. Honestly, I am not the biggest fan of either consistency, but I know that it is more important how they work, not how they feel.
I can't really speak as to how they work with the acne fighting part. I am very fortunate in my skin type, as I am a teen that doesn't struggle with acne. I will say that it doesn't sting at all like some acne fighting products do when you put them on your face!
For the moisturizing aspect, I would say that they both work relatively well. I would say that the on-brand version does work a little bit better however. Just because I feel like I need to use the off-brand moisturizer more than once a day, when I typically use the on-brand moisturizer just once a day. However, this isn't a huge deal. The only thing with this is that if you do use it more than once a day, then the moisturizer will run out sooner. I will say that the on-brand and off-brand moisturizers both last a while though. They come with a lot of product (4 oz). The off-brand has 2 mL more product ,but that makes a very small difference.
So what is the verdict, you may ask! Well I think that there is no need to pay $3 extra for the on-brand moisturizer. There isn't too much of a difference between the two, that you NEED the on-brand. So go save yourselves $3, and you can use that $3 for other products, or even better, to donate to charity!
