Yes, it is fun to bake Christmas cookies, to decorate trees, and your house, but do you celebrate what the true meaning of Christmas is?
Christmas is meant to spread joy to others because of the coming of Christ into the world. Jesus was born on the 25th of December, and the time leading up to Christmas is to help us prepare for the second coming of Christ, whenever that may be. Not enough people celebrate Christmas for what it truly is. Most people love getting presents on Christmas, and there is nothing wrong with this. However, you cannot forget to celebrate Jesus's birthday for more than just presents. We need to have joy in our hearts not because of the new doll, or new iPad we just got,but more because Jesus was born on this day. On December 25th , and all of the days leading up to it, during the whole entire year,we all need to strive to be like Jesus was. We must do this through our actions, thoughts, choices, and how we treat one another. However, on December 25th and during advent we need to do this more than ever. We need to help those less fortunate than ourselves, and spend time with those whom God has blessed us with!
So this Christmas season take a break from the presents, and the decorating, and appreciate the true meaning of Christmas and honor it!
