The Beach: A Metaphor

So I have had many issues with my mind over the past few months when it comes to keeping my mind focused on God, and controlling my thoughts. However, I learned a lot during this time, and after I learned these things, a metaphor came to my mind when I was at the beach. I felt a calling to talk about this metaphor on my blog and share it with others, so here we go.
When you are at the beach and you are standing right where the waves come and go, you probably notice something. The ground is hard where you are standing, but if you don't move, then whenever a wave comes by it takes away some of the sand around and below your feet, and it makes the sand not as rock hard as it was before. However, if you dig your feet into the ground and continue to do so, you are able to stay in the sand securely without having the waves affect you much. Yet, if you decide to instead go away from the waves further up the beach, you will feel as though the waves will never touch you, but once high tide comes, or a hurricane, you are covered with water and aren't able to get out.
Now in this situation the feet represent you as a person, your life, your soul, etc. The sand represents your faith, the Word of God, Jesus, and everything to do with faith. The waves, and the water represent temptation, the devil, and all of the evil things of the world. Now, if you just say you believe, and don't delve into the Word of God, if you don't pray, then slowly the temptations in life will slowly start to etch away your faith until you are left in the water. If you go away from the water, and run away from the temptations in life without facing them, you will be safe for a while, but once temptation, and satan hit you, you will be too far gone. Therefore, the only way to stay where you are, and stay secure is to delve yourself into the Word of God, pray often, and keep your spiritual life strong. Therefore, although you will face temptation, and satan, you can stand up, and be secure in faith.

I hope this makes sense to you all.
Have a wonderful day!
God bless you!
Love,
Elizabeth

Dual Action Moisturizer (Which is better? On Brand Or OffBrand? #2)(Blogmas 2016 #4)

A post that I am very proud of, and that many of you wonderful readers really seemed to enjoy, was my Which Is Better? On Brand, or Off Brand Beauty Blender Edition . I decided to make it a little series because I realize that I love a good dupe, and I want you to join in my journey to great dupes! So welcome to another On-Brand or Off-Brand post!        I think every person can agree that moisturizer is something that is a necessity in a skincare routine, especially in this upcoming winter season! I know in the winter I get very dry skin, and I know that moisturizer can get quite expensive, so I thought I would try out a store brand moisturizer, and compare it to a Clean and Clear moisturizer that I already knew I loved.      These are the two moisturizers that I will be comparing in this post! The clean and clear advantage dual action moisturizer (I know this one is slightly different but I have used both!), and the Walmart...

Life Is Happening RIGHT NOW

One thing that I have really discovered about myself within the past year is that I am way too focused on the future. I often find myself planning my future down to the last detail, and daydreaming.               But let me tell you something. This does not get you anywhere. I realized that I was legitimately spending my life just thinking about a life I dreamed of and planning my future in my mind. However, I soon came to realize that life is happening right now. I am living a wonderful, beautiful, and amazing life now, and if I keep daydreaming excessively I will be living more in my fantasy than in my reality. Though this may sound great, reality is truly wonderful.                I soon began to realize, 'oh dang, I must stop daydreaming'. So that is what I did. I prayed, and I worked hard to stop my daydreaming tendencies. Now I have severely cut down the amount of t...

How I Have Deepened My Faith

A few months ago God truly found me. I knew I wanted to start a relationship with God and with Jesus, but I did not how to begin this faithful journey in my life. However, here I am a few months later and I feel more spiritual than ever. I know I still have a lot to learn, but you always do when it comes to Christ. Here are my tips for starting a relationship with Christ. 1. Pray This is so simple ,but so true. I pray so much. I pray every morning when I wake up to thank God for a safe night. I pray when I am aware I have sinned. I pray before I, or my family eats. I pray before I go to bed. I pray a lot in between. Praying does not have to be a set prayer, you can legitimately just talk to God. It takes a little bit of getting used to, but you get the hang of it as you practice. Remember God knows that you are new to this, and he knows that you are trying and he will help you to learn to pray better. Remember, do not just pray for things, pr...
