So my birthday was back in June before I had even started my blog, and for those of you guys who don't know at Sephora you have what is called a Beauty Insider card which gives you points to redeem for free samples etc. During your birthday month you can go into a store and pick up a free birthday gift, and that is what I will be talking about/reviewing today! I do apologize because I now realize that most of my readers are from the UK and that you guys don't have a Sephora there so sorry about that!
This year the birthday gift was from the brand Nars which I had surprisingly never tried before (because I am broke and can barely afford anything from Sephora, lets be real here!). I knew that Nars had a good reputation especially with blushes so I was excited to try them out.

Inside were two lip pencils that aren't full sized, but aren't sample sized either they are kind of a mix in between. The first color is the red velvet matte lip pencil in Cruella.

This color is definitely an every day wear and I know that I will definitely get a lot of use out of this (I already have!). The best way to describe this lip color is, your natural lip color but better! That probably doesn't help you much though, does it? Well the color is a darker pink sort of color (it looks a lot lighter than it is in the photo of it on my lips). It adds a little bit of color to your lips while allowing you to maintain a natural look. This is not a matte lip pencil so it doesn't dry out your lips at all, and it doesn't cling to the cracks of your lips at all. Like the red lip pencil this lip pencil stays pretty well after you give it around a half hour or so to dry. It does come off a little more than the matte lip pencil, but that is to be expected. Overall, I would give this lip pencil a 9 out of 10 because it is an amazing color and amazing quality! The only reason it isn't a 10 is because it comes off when you eat easier than the other (or because I'm a tough marker).
I will definitely be making some purchases from Nars since these two lip pencils were amazing! Thanks for reading and make sure to follow me on bloglovin, twitter, instagram, and google+!
