Disclaimer: This is not my hair in the picture but it is pretty similar
So those of you who follow my Twitter you probably will already know that I recently just went from having pretty long hair to just above the shoulder hair. Kind of like the length in the photo above only not nearly as nice! So I thought this would be a great was to do the first Favorite Friday post with just the basics!
So last Friday I walked into my hair salon expecting to just get an inch or two off to just freshen up my hair. Then however before we started cutting we started talking about donating hair. Eventually I decided that I should cut off 10 inches of my precious hair to donate!
Before the cut my hair was down to the top of my stomach/rib area. Now it rests on my shoulders and isn't too short. When I first got it cut I immediately hated it, but just reminded myself that I could grow my hair back unlike someone else out there who can't (for those of you who don't know when you donate your hair they make it into wigs for cancer patients).
When I got home I decided to straighten it to see how it would look. I kinda liked it! Not as much as my long hair, but it wasn't horrible! Now I have had it exactly one week and I have grown to love it! I can still put it in a pony tail, and when you do straighten it it takes only 15-20 mins (thats short for me!)! Not to mention I have almost no split ends and my hair in general feels so much healthier!
If you are debating cutting your hair or donating it I 100% recommend you do so! Especially if you plan on donating it! It's such a nice thing to do for someone else who can't grow there hair when you can just grow what you cut off right back!
Have you ever donated your hair?
