I love seeing the different ways that people study. I don't know if that is weird or not,but oh well I do. I find it interesting to see how people learn. I know most of these kinds of posts are typically the same, but honestly these are the things that truly work for me, and help me be more productive. Also quick disclaimer, I mention an app or two, but I have never been contacted by them, or sponsored by them at all, I just really like them for studying.
#1: FLASHCARDS
These are amazing for studying vocabulary, or defining any sort of term that you might need to know. If you are the kind of person that just needs to memorize something in order to remember it, then flashcards are for you. I like to have them physically handy, and I don't always have actual flashcards so I just cut out pieces of paper and use them how I would use a flashcard.
#2: 30/30
This is an app that saves my life when it comes to school. Any night where I have a lot of work to do, I come home and write down all of my homework in this app. Basically you set a time in which you want to work on something, and you try to do it in that time, and then when the time is up, your phone makes a noise, and you know to move onto the next task. This just motivates me, and makes me less prone to procrastination.
#3: Go To The Library
At my school you can go to the library during your study period, and before class starts in the morning. I started doing this a year ago and it has changed my life. I can get some homework done in that time so that way I don't have as much when I get home. Also if you have a test later in the day, you can do some last minute studying in there.
#4: Quizlet
This is another app where you can make flashcards, and play games to learn the flashcards, and information. Also you can see other peoples' flashcards so you can use them if they are doing something similar to what you do. This is great because you can just play games when you are on the bus, or have a minute or two, and you can be learning at the same time.
#5: Actually use your textbook!
This is something that is very important! I find that if I actually read the chapter that my test/quiz is one, and I visually see the information, then it sticks into my brain better. I think that this is great because if there is a question on a test that needs you to apply the thing to a situation, then reading the text actually helps you out!
